The 20th Anniversary party of the Spring Training Conference (STC) sponsored by CALCP (Colorado Association of Lawn Care Professionals) brought record attendance, a record high number of members for the association and a great turn out for a fun celebration. About 75 attended the special event held at the Holiday Inn at I-70 and Chambers Road on Tuesday, March 4 as a part of the annual STC. Door prizes were given by CALCP and several members and suppliers. CALCP has sponsored this annual educational program since 1989. The first 13 years it was held at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds where the members did a lot of the work to make the event happen including making the coffee and serving donuts in the mornings and lunch was catered in. In 2002, 2003 and 2004 the event was held at the Summit Event Center on Sable Blvd in Aurora, and then moved to the present location at the Holiday Inn since 2005. The training program offers classes to fulfill the continuing education requirements of the Dept. of Ag to renew licenses for pesticide applicators and qualified supervisors. The group hit an all time high with memberships at 154 in 2008, and the attendance at the conference was just under 300 professionals.
